Glutathione

What Is Glutathione?

Glutathione (GSH) is a small tripeptide made from three amino acids: glutamate, cysteine, and glycine. Your body produces it naturally in every cell, with the liver being the main factory. It’s often called the master antioxidant because it directly neutralizes free radicals, regenerates other antioxidants (vitamin C, vitamin E, CoQ10), and plays a central role in detoxification.

 

How Does Glutathione Work?

Glutathione is the body’s master intracellular antioxidant—a small tripeptide (glutamate + cysteine + glycine) present in nearly every cell. It exists in high concentrations and performs several essential protective roles.

Key mechanisms include:
